Spay & Neuter.jpg

Portland Dachshund Rescue is pleased to announce our first ever spay and neuter clinic, made possible by a generous grant from Tito's Handmade Vodka. We are now taking applications for dogs and their owners who could otherwise not afford this surgery. Dachshunds, dachshund mixes and other breeds will be considered. Please fill out the application below if you wish to be considered for this grant. All applicants will be contacted about their application to discuss the details. All procedures will take place at Vista Pet Hospital in Portland at a date to be determined later. Please note: You will be required to sign release forms consenting to surgery and all risks that may come with your pet undergoing anesthesia.

A case must meet the following criteria:

  • The individual must reside in the state of Oregon and complete a release form.

  • The pet must be a canine and the individual must consent to basic bloodwork on the day-of surgery to ensure the pet is healthy enough to undergo anesthesia. If a vet determines it is not safe to undergo anesthesia, the spay or neuter will not be performed.

  • There must be evidence of pet ownership.

  • The individual is willing and able to provide recommended follow-up care.

  • Volunteers and board members of Portland Dachshund Rescue, Inc., are ineligible for a grant from Portland Dachshund Rescue, Inc.

Grant Funding

  • Is subject to available funds.

  • May be approved up to $599 per case, depending on pet's weight and gender (paid directly to our vet)

  • Is limited to one grant per household.

  • Will take the animal’s age and other underlying issues under consideration.
